Contender Series closes Season 10 by signing three more men, and Visconde learns a clean sweep isn’t a contract

The finale at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas handed out the last golden tickets of the year. Luis Francischinelli, a 6-foot-6 welterweight, stopped Will Rentz with punches at 2:18 of the first round. Douglas da Lapa stayed unbeaten at 7-0, finally breaking Davi Cabral with punches 19 seconds into the third round of a middleweight war. Greg Foster opened the night by outpointing Jason Asher 29-28 on all three cards in a lightweight scrap that never slowed down. All three are headed to the UFC. In the main event, Erick Visconde swept the cards 30-27 against Ilias Bulaid at featherweight and still left without a deal, a reminder that on Tuesday nights the judges only make the opening bid. Season 10 closes with 46 contracts, tying the show’s record.
