The Full History
2002–2006: London
Cage Rage launched in London in 2002 and grew into Britain's top promotion at Wembley Arena; Anderson Silva held its middleweight title.
2007–2008: ProElite
ProElite bought Cage Rage in 2007. When ProElite collapsed in October 2008, Cage Rage closed. Its final event was Cage Rage 28, and in December 2008 its promoters launched a replacement, Ultimate Challenge UK.
Why It Closed
Its parent collapsed. ProElite, which had bought Cage Rage in 2007, shut down in October 2008. Cage Rage closed with it, and its promoters started Ultimate Challenge UK in December 2008.
Legacy
Britain's first big MMA brand, where Anderson Silva held a title before the UFC.
